SafeSport Training Requirements

  1. Board Members and Employees — All board members and employees must have a current SafeSport training certificate and completed screening. Ensure you track and maintain these records in case of an audit or if needed.

  2. For Teams with U18 Players — Any player aged 18 or older and all adults with authority over U18 players must complete SafeSport training and background screening. Ensure that your leagues have the certifications and screenings available if needed or audited.

Screening Requirements

Each member association is responsible for the following screening requirements. All individuals requiring SafeSport training must be checked against the following databases:

  1. National Sex Offender Registry — Check at nsopw.gov

  2. U.S. Soccer Risk Management List — U.S. Soccer has adjusted the security requirements for the risk management list going forward. Rather than using a shared link, individuals who need access to the list will be added as individual contributors via their email address. Please reach out to Sophia (smiller@ussoccer.org) and Bria (bduvall@ussoccer.org) with the names and email addresses of any individual(s) from your organization who need access to the list.
